The people of Shipley and the wider local community are invited to explore and enjoy a vibrant range of cultural activities during two special weeks of events marking Bradford’s City of Culture year.
From artistic swimming and improv acting, to poetry, photography, crafting, art trails, afternoon teas and more, there’s something happening every day from Monday 26 May to Sunday 1 June, and Monday 9th June to Sunday 15th June for all ages to enjoy.
Councillor Mike Farren, Chair of the Engagement Committee, said:
“Bradford’s City of Culture year is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the diverse range of activities, groups and talent we have in our local communities. ‘Culture’ comes in many forms, and we’re thrilled with the variety on offer during this special week.”
Throughout the two weeks, local organisations, businesses, and community groups will host a mix of engaging and fun events.
With both free and low-cost activities available, the programme is designed to be as accessible and inclusive as possible. Event booking details are below.
Week one celebrations will culminate in a grand finale at the Kirkgate Centre on Sunday 1 June from 2pm, featuring a variety of entertainment for all the family. No booking is required to attend the showcase event.
