Shipley Town Council offers a range of different grants to enhance the wellbeing of its residents, address climate change and improve its parks, green spaces and opportunities for outdoor leisure.  These are summarised below and set out in more detail, including successful recipients and what they have been able to achieve, on the following pages.

 

Community Wellbeing Grants: main scheme

Shipley Town Council offers small grants, usually of up to £500, to organisations enhancing the economic, environmental and social wellbeing of Shipley and its inhabitants.

Organisations wishing to apply for a grant should contact the Town Council office for details of the scheme and an application form.

 

Mini Community Grants: winter/spring 2023

From January 2023, the Town Council offered up to five mini community grants of up to £100 each. These grants are awarded to organisations wishing to organise projects or initiatives that help to address the cost of living pressures faced by Shipley’s residents.

Mini community grants will be awarded at the discretion of the Town Clerk, on a first-come-first-served basis. An enquiry does not guarantee the award of a grant and the Town Council reserves the right to apply conditions to the terms of the grant.

Cost of Living Crisis Grants: winter 2025 : Currently funding is closed

The Town Council has awarded a number of grants to organisations that deliver projects or initiatives that help to address the cost of living pressures faced by Shipley’s residents.

 

Green Grants: 2025/26 : Applications are now closed

Shipley Town Council wants to support community led actions and local initiatives to address the climate crisis and the Shipley ‘Green Grants’ scheme ran in 2025/26 for its third year.

£7,700 was available this year for the scheme.  Bids for each individual project can be for any amount up to a maximum of £2,000 and should address actions in the Council’s Climate Action Plan under four main areas of: Housing, Transport, Education and Nature.

 

Parks & Recreation Grants: 2025/26 : Applications are now closed

Shipley Town Council wants to support community led actions and local initiatives to improve our green spaces and outdoor leisure opportunities and the ‘Parks & Recreation Grants’ scheme is now in its second year.

£3580 was available for this scheme.  Bids for ideas that enhance the provision and enjoyment of Shipley parks, green spaces and outdoor recreational pursuits can be for up to £1000.  Shipley residents and/or biodiversity should benefit from the project.
