Welcome to the Shipley Town Council Allotments Service information and news page.

The Town Council’s directly managed allotment sites are located at:

Red Beck, off Otley Road, in Shipley (Rosie & Lisa are the Site Representatives).

Caroline Street, in Saltaire (Chris is the Site Representative).

Carlton Avenue with Hirst Lane, in Hirst Wood.

If you are interested in being added to the waiting list for an allotment plot send your details, including name, postal and email addresses and telephone number, together with the site(s) that you are interested, in to the Town Council Office. Please note that there is currently a long waiting list for plots at the Caroline Street site.

Please note that the allotments in Northcliffe Park are managed by Northcliffe Allotment Society

The Canalside Allotments in Saltaire, located behind the United Reformed Church, are privately owned and managed. Please contact the Town Council office for details.

Tenancy Arrangements

Waiting lists are maintained for each site in accordance with the Town Council’s Allotment Waiting List policy. When you get to the top of the waiting list you will be contacted by email and offered a plot.

Once a plot has been accepted you are required to sign a Tenancy Agreement and comply with its associated policies, which can be accessed opposite.

Full rent for a plot in 2026/27 is £53.00 per annum, plus a £22.00 contribution to provision of water where this is available.

Allotment Management Forum

This meets twice a year, in the hour before two of the Allotment & Green Spaces Committee meetings (dates below). It is chaired by Chris, the Caroline Street Site Representative, and is an opportunity to discuss any issues direct with the council and hear from us about any allotment plans. All are welcome to attend any committee meeting and dates and papers can be found on the Meetings page.
