Following the first allocation of the Shipley Green Grants in January, which awarded three projects funds through a public vote, the overwhelming feeling amongst the audience was that all the projects presented were well worth supporting.
The Town Council has had some discussions and pleased to be able to offer some funding to all projects. In addition to the three funded projects announced earlier this month, the additional projects are:
- Katie Shepherd who will be compiling and illustrating a free walking/cycling/wheeling focused map of free to access spaces in Shipley where people can connect with nature.
- Jen Dyer, Nifty Sustainability will be running two interactive workshops around Shipley’s Climate Action Plan – Look out for your opportunity to participate.
- Lou Yates will be planting lovely things to eat at Wash House Gardens, Saltaire, helping local people connect with nature and increase confidence in picking and eating nutritious plants.
- Saltaire Primary School Eco Club will now be working with Shipley in Bloom to create an Outdoor Zone of plants and wildlife in school grounds as a learning area
We look forward to seeing the outcomes of all these Shipley projects and will be sharing progress across our social media platforms.
